My dear godbrother, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami
His Holiness Jayapataka Swami,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda!
With joy and gratitude in my heart, on the auspicious occasion of your 76th Vyāsa-pūjā, I offer you my heartfelt expressions of deep affection, esteem, and appreciation for your tireless dedication to the sacred mission of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda.
The memory of the time we spent together in Māyāpur Dhām still moves me deeply. Your generous hospitality, those days at the construction site of the Pushpa Samādhi Mandir—when everything that would later take shape was yet to be imagined—mark a pivotal moment in our spiritual friendship, which I carry in my heart as a precious gift.
Our walks along the banks of the Gaṅgā, the sacred baths, the chanting of the Holy Names, and the prasāda we shared (which you always offered so generously and abundantly to me, my family, and our occasional assistants) remain joyful and indelible memories, blooming in the garden of our remembrance.
I vividly recall our heartfelt conversations about the interior design of that sacred building, the selection of materials, and the sketches scattered across the large improvised table amidst the construction pillars, in the company of our dear assistant, Kadamba Kanana Swami. We were united by a deep and sincere love for Śrīla Prabhupāda and by a common desire to make that place worthy of representing our Great Spiritual Master in the best possible way to devotees and pilgrims from around the world.
Together, we witnessed the unfolding of something that once seemed impossible. And particularly in the most challenging times, I witnessed your unwavering determination, your generosity, and your wholehearted dedication.
All of this has been—and continues to be—an integral part of my spiritual journey. I thank Śrī Kṛṣṇa for giving me the opportunity to share such profound and meaningful experiences of my life with you.
You have served, and continue to serve, Śrīla Prabhupāda in every corner of the world, often under physically difficult conditions. Through your tireless saṅkīrtana, you have rekindled divine love in the hearts of thousands. Your life is a continuous offering of love: a living example of what it truly means to be fully engaged in the service of Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s mission with body, mind, and soul.
I am deeply grateful for your friendship, and on this blessed day I pray to Śrīla Prabhupāda and Śrī Kṛṣṇa to offer you support, comfort, and deep inspiration, and that your presence may continue to illuminate and guide the path of countless devotees in the purest and most selfless sevā.
With gratitude and spiritual affection,
Your friend and servant,
Matsya Avatar Das
